text 7 Apr leaving for las vegas

i despise packing for trips, even ones for which i’m very excited.  i show my disdain by refusing to pack until the final 10 minutes (which usually gets extended by 5-10 minutes anyway).  even so, jeremy and i were driven carefully (in an electrifying thunderstorm) to the new indianapolis airport on saturday, march 28.

i love airports but hate flying because of all the hassles and mistakes and the various things airlines do to make your flight uncomfortable and more expensive.  i saw a naked tchopstix counter in the foodcourt area, so i ordered a crunch munch roll to take on the plane (i’m also not interested in making friends with other passengers around me).  jeremy in turn got the messiest looking deli sandwich from shapiro’s deli.

our seats were originally not next to each other (even though i bought the tickets months ago, together, same credit card), but we managed to get seats across the aisle from each other.  still lame, since we were trying to share headphones to watch the same movie, and i’ve never not had a window seat (my favourite part of any flight).  the flight itself was fine, though, and jeremy was brave.  haha.

jeremy’ great aunt joy (who he hadn’t seen since he was a kid) picked us up from the airport and drove us to her home that nght.  she lives in a beautiful desert-style home with a very open layout inside and beautifully landscape ground outside.  we also had a huge bedroom with what must have been a california king size bed.  really, it was so massive and we slept so well.
