jeremy and i awoke the next morning and went about getting ready at a very leisurely pace. the adjoining bathroom had this tiled walk-in shower that i spent a good half hour in. as we were walking to greet joy, her five dogs (a couple schnauzers and three dachshunds) greeted us first. i spent the greater part of the morning playing with them. joy also made us yummy pancakes to start the day, and gave us a tour of the yard. the pool/spa combo, combined with her cooking and dogs, made me re-think staying on the strip. we could have spent our vacation at her house!

all those dogs were delightfully sweet (except lady, the wire-haired schnauzer). i loved emma, with the heteroschromia-colored eyes, and asher, who loves giving hugs. jeremy favored harley, the spirited little dachshund.
