speaking of food, it was time for lunch for jer and i.

jeremy and i had only wanted to keep his aunt’s car for red rocks canyon, but we quickly realized how convenient it would be to have a vehicle the rest of the trip. joy picked us up before lunch and handed over the keys. score.
i hadn’t had in-n-out burger since i lived in california, almost three years ago, and had been dying for some animal style fries and a cheeseburger for that long (hint: if you know you’re going out west, look up the secret menu. try this site. the regular menu? hamburger, cheeseburger, fries, milkshake, soft drink.). the noms were just as tasty as i remembered, and eating here was a nice break from the ridiculous food prices on the strip (seriously, who orders a $45 bowl of gelato from a kiosk?). i’m not sure jer had enough to eat (apparently, he could have had a “grilled cheese” off the secret menu, but why would i have memorized that?), but i was satisfied.
we made a quick stop at some outlet mall near joy’s house and the strip to get… dress shoes for jeremy. poor boy had been informed the previous night he wouldn’t be allowed in certain restaurants in our hotel without them. after much chagrin (he wasn’t embarrassed, just annoyed as hell), he caved in and bought a nice, modern black pair.
