text 23 Apr las vegas: day three/night four

after waking on the third day, jeremy and i ventured out to the pool complex.  honestly, swimming was one of the main considerations in planning a vacation, and having been to the mgm grand a couple years ago, i knew we’d be covered.  five pools, three hot tubs, and a lazy river kept us cool when we needed out of the sun.

our plan was to lay out for a little bit in the late morning/early afternoon to work up an appetite.  tacky and trashy as it is, vegas is totally known for ridiculously huge buffets.  some of them are cheap as hell, like $9 for all the low-grade steak and prime rib you want.  others, like the one in our hotel, cost a little more but are set in a nicer atmosphere and have higher quality noms.

sooo we ate at the grand buffet for lunch.  i was determined to try everything i wanted to, but i got full after the first plate of salad and sushi.  never mind that; i ended up with three plates.  we waited forever, then pulled ourselves together for dessert.

dessert.  fucking insane.  the cappuccino mousse (top left, tall skinny shot) was my absolute faaave.  i wish i could say i didn’t actually try six desserts, but hey.  i’m on vacation.

the only thing we could think of doing afterward was going back up to the room and rolling around naked on the bed moaning about our tummies.  not too sexy, i’ll assure you.  we fell asleep watching the simpsons and awoke hours later, like at dusk.  haha. way to spend the day.  (:

we went out on our side of the strip that night.  this is harrah’s casino, with part of the venetian in the background.

we had gotten a candied apple at our hotel and shared it while people watching.  even eight or nine hours after lunch, we still weren’t hungry.  we did end up eating a thin slice of new york style pizza, which totally hit the spot.

mcdonalds, vegas style.
